Even the conservatives are tweeting their disappointment in the GOP Suicide
It can be interesting to take a peek at what the conservatives are saying about their "representatives." My boy, Ian, highlights the tweeted reactions to the SC GOP debate last night:

This is What Chicken Nuggets Look Like Before They're Turned Into "Food"
Actually, all processed chicken looks like this. This is just wrong.
Can You Guess What McDonald’s Food Item This Is? Say hello to mechanically separated chicken.
It’s what all fast-food chicken is made – things like chicken nuggets and patties. In addition, the processed frozen chicken in the stores is made from it. Basically, the entire chicken is smashed and pressed through a sieve — bones, eyes, guts, and all. It comes out looking like this. There’s more: because it’s crawling with bacteria, it will be washed with ammonia, soaked in it, actually. Then, because it tastes gross, it will be reflavored artificially. Finally, since it is weirdly pink, it will be dyed with artificial color. People still eat this and feed it to their children!

An Analysis of the Strauss's "Beim Schlafengehen" from his "Four Last Songs"
If you don't have any knowledge of music theory, you might want to skip this one. :)
Beim Schlafengehen ("Going to Sleep"), the third installment in the collection "Four Last Songs" by Richard Strauss, is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful pieces in existence. The extensive chromaticism Strauss utilizes with utter precision and care tugs your heart-strings hither and yon at just the right times. In Strauss's world, key areas are colors that paint poetry with breathtaking vibrance onto the canvas of your very soul.

I've apparently come "out"...
...of hiding? I got nothin'.
I've had this blog for over a year now, but I've done pretty much nothing with it. Only a few friends have even known it existed, and I haven't shown it to anyone—I've flat-out refused. So why, pray tell, have I suddenly found myself actually posting things (several times a day, no less) after such a long time? Most likely for two reasons: until further notice, I am a freelancer, and, at the moment, I have some time off. Being that I haven't had any time off in... um... I have no idea... I have ended up filling my free time with random stuff (like this blog), and it has been awesome. Also, I am starting a juice fast Monday (more about that in a separate post), and my friends have recommended that I blog while I do it. Hence, the old blog comes out while I wait for my awesome juice fast to commence!
Either way, it seems that people have actually started viewing my blog. So... welcome to the real world, blog, and welcome to my blog, people of the internet!

I <3 Eggs
There is nothing like a local, free range farm egg fried over medium in coconut oil with pink himalayan salt and cayenne pepper sprinkled on top. An excellent boost of protein with numerous benefits, this is a combo for success. I like to have it around brunch time a couple hours after my breakfast green juice. Click on the ingredients to see some of the health/socioeconomic benefits of these foods!

Do you want to reboot and cleanse your body after the holidays? Are you unhappy with how you feel or how much energy you have? Do you wish you could live your life with less medication? Have you always wanted to do a juice fast but didn't know how and wondered if it was healthy? Are you looking for inspiration? Are you a human being?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, WATCH THIS! It's FREE!!! Even if it doesn't change your life, it will most definitely change how you think of nutrition, health, medication, and general life ailments.

Prokofiev's 7th Symphony
Prokofiev's 7th Symphony in C# minor is quite possibly my favorite Symphony by him. It may a have a lot to do with the fact that I got to know the piece in an apartment with several classical music savvy friends of mine in college that are very dear to me. It's a shame that it's not performed more often!
I'm not going to give this piece as much of a comb-through as I did the Brahms (mostly because that took quite a long time and a lot of brain cells, and I'm lazy), but this is a piece that is very close to my heart, so I wanted to write at least something about it.

Awkward Hugs
I've notice something recently: whenever 2 people hug, the shorter person typically puts their arms OVER the taller person's! This makes no sense! The shorter person has to stretch up and the taller person has to crouch down. I'm sure this isn't true when differences in height are extreme, but, for the most part, I've noticed that this is a trend.
Why do we do this?? Does this come from the fact that when we dance in coed couples, the man places his hand(s) on the woman's waist and the woman on the man's shoulders? Or maybe I just have strange friends...
What do you think?

Praise for Carlos Kleiber's Brahms Symphony No. 4 (and for the piece itself, for that matter) with the Vienna Philharmonic
I very firmly believe this is the best recording of this piece in existence. I wish I was a Viennese male horn player born in the 60's so I could have played in this orchestra and worked with such a legend of a conductor. Only Vienna can take things like Bernstein's ridiculously lugubrious tempos and make them sound amazing. They are an orchestra of artists. Not only that, they play instruments that are unique to Vienna. For instance, they use Viennese Horns and Viennese oboes. Here is a link to a general description of the orchestra, and here is a link to more info about the instruments they use.
Because I don't have much experience "reviewing" (for lack of a better word) an album—or anything, for that matter—I'm afraid this won't be particularly organized, but I love writing about the pieces/recordings that are close to my heart, and I love sharing my love for these pieces with others, so here it goes:
